Does anybody think ban on guns will reduce murder/crime rate?

Not only is killing with a gun clean, quick and easy, it is also cowardly. The ones who have no fear, use knives. If you are gonna use a knife, you have to get up close. Cowards don't want to do that. So, the question is, are there a lot of cowards out there that wouldn't kill if they couldn't use a gun? Stats say yes.
