How can I decide on a tattoo?

I am turning nineteen soon and want a tattoo to spice up my b'day. I have some ideas of what I want, but I am not definetly sure yet and I don't know where I want it, but it has to be discreet because I am going to be an elementary teacher. How can I make my decisions easier, and any advice??? Thanks!
