I would like to move to Virginia.?

My boyfriend and I would like to move there together, I don't remember the city he said, but I know it's about 40 minutes from Washington DC. My problem is I'm a southern girl. He's from up north, so he'll get along fine. I'm tired of being down here in Florida where there's no seasons or snow. I'm ready for a real winter. He told me some real horror stories about he aunt who is southern and went up there to visit. When ever he does something that pisses me off, (like dissing grits) I call him a damn yankee. It makes him mad. But my point is; I don't want to hate everyone up there. Is it the best place for me? Or should we comprimise and move somewhere a little closer to home?
