My boyfriends father left me a voicemail telling me i was a ***** and a skank, can i file a harment charge?

He called my phone and left a voicemail saying the I was a lying ***** and that when he got ahold of my mother my little games would be over. However I have not done anything so i'm not sure what games i'm playing and he ended with you ******* skank. So what i really want to know if there is anyway i can file some form of verbal harment charge or will he be covered by freedom of speech?
